New Theatres, Jersey General Hospital

TNG designed the engineering services for two new Operating Theatres (5 & 6) at Jersey General Hospital.

Operating Theatres

The Theatres were constructed within a new 3-storey extension to Block B, 1960’s Wing at the Hospital.

The works comprised new primary mechanical and electrical services and infrastructure to serve the new facilities. The extension included lower and upper ground floor plant space to accommodate the plant for the theatres, located on the top floor.

The creation of the new theatres enabled pairs of existing theatres to be taken out of action, in order to be upgraded without affecting clinical delivery. The work was carried out within an existing live estate; consequently the facilities serving other areas had to remain fully operational throughout construction.

TNG’s designs included…

> HTM Compliant Ventilation,
> HTM Compliant Medical Gases,
> 250kVa Generator,
> IPS & UPS Power Systems.
