On September 19th, the TNG team came together for our annual Team Building event, diving into an exciting challenge at Escape Rooms in Southampton. Split into two groups—detectives in Parallax games and scientists in Timeclock games—we had one mission: to escape from our padlocked rooms before the 60-minute timer expired!

Problem Solving

Working alongside colleagues from different areas of the company added a fresh dynamic, fostering collaboration as we searched for clues, solved puzzles, and deciphered riddles. The atmosphere was tense, especially when we heard a cheer from outside; the first team had successfully escaped, fuelling our adrenaline and urgency.

The Escape

The first team to escape, Lucy’s Hostages, comprised Lucy, Tom, Kelvin, George, and Matt, who worked seamlessly together and truly earned their victory!

As time ticked away, more teams found their way to freedom, with some emerging just seconds before the timer ran out. One team, however, remained locked in—but thanks to a bit of negotiation, they were soon freed and rejoined the rest of us, unscathed.

Making Connections

Team Building is not just about the activities; it’s about forging connections, especially for new starters. By the end of the evening, the newcomers felt like integral parts of the team, blending right in. These events are a favourite at TNG, as they create unexpected friendships, break down barriers, and generate cherished memories that we’ll look back on fondly.
