Project Overview

Mayflower Plaza

The Gymnasium and Learning Space were built as part of the University’s new Mayflower Halls of Residence at Mayflower Plaza, which offers ensuite accommodations for approximately 1,100 students.

With students ready to move into the Halls in September, construction of the new Gym was undertaken in a fully operational environment. As such, all facilities serving other areas needed to remain fully operational throughout the works.

Engineering Systems

Our designs included a geothermal heating system, heat recovery ventilation, and automatic metering of water heating and hot water services. While our Electrical team designed systems that included high-efficiency LED lighting systems with automatic controls and daylight linking, a CCTV systems, intruder alarm and access control systems and fire detection and alarm system.  A Building Management System (BMS) was included to control and monitor a building’s engineering equipment.
