Domestic Energy Assessor

Intermediate Engineer Alex Jackson, has just completed a two day course with Elmhurst Energy in Leicestershire.

Alex is working towards becoming a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). He will be able to undertake energy assessments of existing dwellings and produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) when he has finished his training.

Elmhurst’s City and Guilds accredited Domestic Energy Assessor Training, provides individuals with the skills and knowledge to produce energy calculations using reduced data Standard Assessment Procedure (RdSAP) methodology.

The next stage for Alex is to carry out a set of case studies. Once these are completed, he will be awarded the City and Guilds DEA qualification. Following that, Alex will be able to apply to be ‘accredited’ with the Domestic Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme.

Alex’s new skills will enhance our specialist sustainability team. He will support our in-house specialist Katarzyna Kopacz, a Low Carbon Consultant, Low Carbon Energy Assessor, BREEAM Assessor and AP.
