College Gardens – The Beginning of a New Chapter
Working alongside Rok Construction Limited, TNG has been employed as M&E Co-ordinator for a prestigious residential development in Jersey.
College Gardens is a development of luxury apartments on the site of the former Jersey College for Girls at La Pouquelaye in St Helier. The main building, built in 1888, is one of Jersey’s most iconic Victorian buildings. The original grand facade will remain, as will its ample internal floor to ceiling heights. However, everything else will be brought bang up-to-date to create luxurious and contemporary residences that complement the rich history and tradition.
TNG’s M&E Co-ordinator role provides peace of mind for Clients and Main Contractors. It ensures that the network of engineering systems are being overseen by one competent person, who will ensure that work is completed in accordance with the specification and work programme.
Throughout the project, our job is to supervise the engineering content of the scheme and ensure the Mechanical and Electrical Sub-Contractors, and other specialist trades, provide the correct information to allow the build to progress as planned.
Our commission includes chairing monthly M&E co-ordination meetings, assessing the M&E proposals, assisting with programming, and problem solving. We also carry out monthly site installation inspections and review the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) information.
A total of 187 one to four-bed residential units will be built at College Gardens. These will include shared equity properties, over 55’s social rented accommodation and Category B apartments available for private purchase.
All residents at College Gardens will have the opportunity to enjoy the extensive private landscaped gardens. The first phase of the development is due for completion in March 2018 and full completion is due spring 2019.
We are delighted to be able to help rejuvenate such a wonderful historic building, so that it will continue to bring pleasure to island residents for many years to come.
