Stroke Unit, The Royal Bournemouth Hospital

TNG (formerly Henderson Green) provided consultancy services for a new Combined Stroke Unit in Bournemouth.

Stroke Centre

This P21+ scheme was the first let in the country. It involved the conversion of existing wards on the ground floor of Royal Bournemouth Hospital into a new Acute and Rehabilitation Stroke Centre.

The Stroke Unit provides specialist care after a stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA). The Unit provides patient care from the onset of a stroke, right through to recovery and rehabilitation.

The Department of Health’s P21+ Framework was used to procure the works. Our brief was to upgrade the existing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services to suit the re-planned facility. New services were installed in line with the Trust’s Replacement Strategies, whilst some existing systems were retained to minimise cost.
